Issue Position: Right to Life and Right to Choice

"Attachment may be mistaken for benevolence and compassion."

Right to Life and Right to Choice arguments cover an issue that directly affects very few people in the country yet has continued to be a very divisive issue for decades. As a starting point, I believe that no woman should be forced, coerced or pressured to undergo an abortion against her will. At the same time, I believe that it is wrong and counter-productive to intimidate, frighten, threaten, denigrate or obstruct any woman who wishes to exercise her legal right to reproductive services.

Nearly all arguments center on the rights of a woman versus the rights of the fetus the woman is carrying. I believe that the best people to guard the rights of the unborn are the very people who nurture the unborn. In general, woman of child-bearing age should be the ones to decide this issue. I defer to their good judgment.
